Man barricades himself inside Seattle Subway restaurant

SEATTLE – A man was arrested following a standoff with police at a Subway restaurant in Seattle.

KOMO-TV reports King County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ryan Abbott says police were called around 4:45 p.m. Monday to a domestic violence situation at a car wash.

Police say the man ran into a nearby pizza restaurant as deputies arrived, then into the Subway.

Abbott says the suspect had two knives and charged at deputies when they arrived. According to Abbott, deputies Tazed the suspect several times and then he attempted to attack the deputies. The man then barricaded himself in a back room.

Eventually SWAT team members were able to break down the doors and capture the suspect.

The man was arrested and taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of a bite wound in his leg from a confrontation with a police dog.
