VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The cold snap may have had something to do with a water main break in Vancouver.
The break forced the closure of a stretch of East 2nd Avenue — which turns into Great Northern Way — between Main Street and about Glen Drive for a couple of hours Thursday morning.
The leak itself was reportedly at 5th and Prince Edward.
It’s unclear when the leak can actually be fixed but the water has been turned off while they get to work, and no official cause has been released.
Cleanup crews were called out to clear mud, ice, and slush that remains on the roadway.
