VANCOUVER ISLAND (NEWS 1130) — During a weekend of tough weather and rough road conditions, those looking to take a bus anywhere outside of Metro Vancouver won’t be able to find information on detours or cancellations on the company’s website.
BC Transit’s website has been down since around 5 p.m. Sunday. It was also down for several hours on Feb. 8, also during a time when it was snowing in Victoria.
People who take transit outside Metro Vancouver are probably looking for help planning trips through #BCStorm right now, but they can't. @BCTransit's website has been down since around 5 p.m. It also crashed on Friday for several hours before it was restored. @NEWS1130 pic.twitter.com/IXGNIqoRHb

The crash has sparked some questions and frustration by transit users on online.
An employee for BC Transit tells NEWS 1130 the outage happened because too many people were trying to log on at the same time. Friday’s outage also seems to have happened during a snow event in Victoria.
A spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
