Robotics and AI impacting workplace stress, expert says

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Workplace stress is nothing new but the psychological impact of robotics and artificial intelligence is increasingly on the radar of some experts.

One expert says the future of work doesn’t have to be frightening.

Any kind of change creates anxiety, and Chery Cran says there’s one major difference now.

“What we’re dealing with now is the speed of change,” she says.

She calls herself a Future of Work expert, and she’s the author of NextMapping: Anticipate, Navigate and Create the Future of Work.

From automation to artificial intelligence and robotics, Cran says you can either be afraid and keep your head in the sand or anticipate the change and try to keep a people-first approach.

“The skills that are needed for this shared future are collaboration, agility, and creativity,” she says. “The ability to get along well with others, the ability to understand the personalities and the preferences of others.”

Cran says it’s about taking control of the future and being prepared for change in the workplace.
