VICTORIA (NEWS 1130) – As claims of miss-spending linger over the B.C. legislature, the assistant deputy speaker, Liberal Linda Reid, stepped aside Tuesday.
Speaker Daryl Plecas’ report on inappropriate spending accuses her of double-billing parking.
Party leader Andrew Wilkinson says it’s simply not true
“The only accusation in the Plecas report, in an unfounded way from a former employee that was not terminated, that allegation was false.”
Wilkinson says a working relationship between Reid and Plecas is impossible so the party had no choice but to replace her.

None of the accusations in the Speaker’s report have been proven.
The Clerk and Sergeant-at-Arms, who are the focus of the Plecas report, deny any wrongdoing and remain on paid leave pending investigations.
