Over 60 drivers ticketed in Delta during ‘big ticket event’ Thursday

DELTA (NEWS 1130) — It was a busy day for Delta Police yesterday, after they pulled over 61 drivers on Nordel Way.
Cris Leykauf with Delta Police says despite advertising that officers were going to be out in full force along the route, many people weren’t taking enough care.
“Some of these events, we’ll actually only have a handful of drivers potentially pulled over, so this was definitely a higher than normal number of drivers that were pulled over,” she says.
The drivers were pulled over for a variety of reasons… and in one case, a driver was caught using cannabis behind the wheel.
On the bright side, Leykauf says officers loved being cheered on by drivers.
