Langley hosts high school basketball provincials

LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) – High school basketball is in the spotlight today in Langley as students from across British Columbia are competing in high school basketball provincials.
Tyler Dinwoodie with the Langley Events Centre says the venue is one of the only in the country that could host a tournament this size.
“We’re one of the only facilities, probably in Canada, that could hold this all in one facility,” he told NEWS 1130.
He says the venue has been busy hosting dozens of games over the last few days. There are seven courts.
“With the options of using the field house and the arena bowl where we put the temporary courts in,” he says.
The senior girls’ finals take place in the afternoon on March 2, while the boys’ tournament starts next week.
