Daylight home invasion in Abbotsford

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A terrifying daylight home invasion happened in Abbotsford this weekend.

At 4:30 p.m. on March 2, four men barged into a home near Maclure Road and Horn Street while the homeowners, a couple in their 50s, were still inside.

Sgt. Judy Bird says the suspects demanded money and drugs as one of them waved a gun.

“The male resident was able to leave through the back door and the female hid in another room,” she says. “The suspects ransacked the home and were last seen leaving the residence carrying a duffel bag.”

The homeowner confronted them as they took off in his black BMW, parked in the driveway, and a single shot was fired from inside the car, breaking the driver’s side window.

Police believe the attack was targeted but not connected to gang conflict.

Neither of the residents were injured and the stolen car was later found abandoned nearby.

Police are looking for witnesses of the incident and help identifying the four suspects, who were all wearing hoodies.
