‘Irresponsible and dangerous’: Video shows someone sliding down a Vancouver skyscraper rooftop

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It’s an incredibly dangerous act, and may be criminal in nature.
A video posted to reddit shows someone sliding down the rooftop of a skyscraper in Downtown Vancouver. The original video was apparently posted to Instagram. That account is set to private.
VPD Cst. Jason Doucette says the person in the video appears to be similar something called “rooftopping,” which is where people go to high-up spots — often illegally — and take videos or photos to emphasize that they are in a unique but a dangerous situation.
Doucette calls it “irresponsible and dangerous” behaviour.
“Not only are the offenders putting themselves at risk, they are also potentially putting the public and first responders in danger. If one of these people slips and falls, a first responder has to put their safety at risk to rescue [them]. We encourage anyone who feels they are witnessing a criminal offence to contact their local police immediately.”
The VPD says it is aware of the video and they are looking into it.
