City staff say so much work needs to be done, some is starting in April.

Upgrades to the Granville Street Bridge will include structural and seismic work. Crews will be repairing concrete and steel, as well as replacing expansion joints and bearings.

Crews will also be working on prep work for the Broadway subway. Trolly wires will be installed along MacDonald Street between 4th Ave. and Broadway; along 12th Ave. between Arbutus and Granville Streets, as well as between Oak and Cambie Streets; and along Cambie St. between Broadway and 12th Ave.

On Boundary Road, crews will be replacing a water main and fixing sidewalks. You should expect to see them near the intersections with 1st Ave. and Lougheed.

Meanwhile, there will be work on sewer separation and safety improvements on Nanaimo Street. Crews will be working along Nanaimo between McGill Street and 4th Ave.

There will be work done around Quebec Street. Crews will be on Quebec between 2nd Ave. and Central Street, as well as on 1st Ave. between Ontario and Main Streets.

Also, expect utility upgrades around Oakridge Centre that could cause some delays.

Other road closures will be thanks to filming projects and various special events including the Celebration of Light, Sun Run, Vaisakhi Parade, and Khatsahlano Street Party.
