VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – After being closed for more than a month, a portion of the Stanley Park seawall has reopened.
The Vancouver Park Board closed the wall from Siwash Rock and Lions Gate Bridge in Stanley Park on February 12 because of the risk of ice breaking off the rock face and onto the path. While it reopened on February 25, it closed again 3 days later because of more falling ice.
The ice blocks can weigh between 2-15 kg and were dropping from 5-20 meters.
