Large fire at Vancouver warehouse knocked down quickly

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A large fire at a Vancouver warehouse Monday night on West 4th and Ontario looked bad, but fire crews knocked it down quickly.

Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Wilson says flames were shooting through the laundry business’ windows and smoke filled the building. That’s when crews upgraded the fire to a second alarm.

“At this time we have the fire knocked down, so we’re just checking for extensions and we’re removing smoke from the building,” he told NEWS 1130 at around 8:45 p.m.

Wilson says the fire was on the main floor, near some combustible materials.

No one was injured in the fire, and there is no word yet on the cause.
