Frontier attendants, airline reach tentative deal

DENVER — Frontier Airlines flight attendants have reached a tentative contract deal with the Denver-based budget carrier to replace an agreement negotiated while the company was bankruptcy nearly a decade ago.

Both sides agreed to terms for the contract Tuesday, leading the union to call off a planned demonstration Wednesday by over 200 flight attendants from 20 airlines in Denver for their annual convention.

The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA says the deal includes significant pay increases, schedule flexibility and quality-of-life improvements. It declined to release details until after Frontier’s union representatives reviewed the details next week. But local President Jen Sala said it would put the airline on par with other major carriers.

Negotiations have been going on since November 2015 to replace a 2011 contract, the first reached after flight attendants unionized.
