B.C. mom continues search for missing son

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A mom, desperate to find her teen son who’s been missing for close to a year, is handing out flyers in Vancouver on Monday, holding out hope he’s somewhere in the city.

Phyllis Fleury says her life turned upside down when 16-year-old Colten went missing from Prince George last May.

“I was breaking down a lot more, but I never gave up and I never will,” Fleury says.

Several sightings of Colten in the city have been reported, notably near Oppenheimer Park, prompting his mom to return to Vancouver six times to look for him.

“Coming down here, knowing that I’m doing something for my son has given me the strength and know my son is OK.”

Fleury says she just wants to make sure her son is safe, and tell him he’s loved and missed at home.

“If he chose to stay here I just need to know for my own peace of mind that he’s OK,” she adds. “And I’ll keep coming down until I see him with my own eyes.”

She’s asking anyone who sees Colten, or knows where he is to call 911. He is described as 5’ 8” tall, with brown eyes and brown hair, and might have been spotted in Vancouver’s Oppenheimer Park.
