Chilliwack RCMP officer charged after elderly woman hit by car last year

CHILLIWACK (NEWS 1130) – A Chilliwack RCMP officer has been charged, a year after an elderly pedestrian was hit by a car.
The woman was reportedly left with serious injuries after she was hit on Tyson Rd. near Cumberland Ave. on March 30, 2018.
Cst. Yannick Leblanc was on-duty at the time.
A few days after the incident, the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) put out an appeal for witnesses.
Leblanc has now been charged with driving without due care and attention.
The IIO looked into the incident. Charges were laid on Wednesday.
