VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – There’s some good news, if you work in the music industry in B.C.
The province is renewing the $7.5 million Amplify BC music fund for one more year.
“It’s great news for the music industry and lots to be celebrated around the successes through the initial round of funding from the province and how that continues to grow,” said Prem Gill, CEO of Creative BC.
“There’s four areas that we focus on: Career development, live music, music company development, and music industry initiatives.”
The fund was created in 2018.
“To date, the program has funded 33 B.C. music companies and helped them to expand and diversify their activities, 190 B.C. artists with career development projects, 77 live music events and festivals and concert presentations, and 37 industry-building events and initiatives.”
Gill says our province is the third-largest music centre in Canada.
