Lots of eggciting Easter events happening across the Lower Mainland

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS 1130) — It’s going to be an eggcellent weekend.The rain should stay away for Easter egg hunts and events around the Lower Mainland.

There are all sorts of events happening from hops to hunts.

On Saturday in Surrey, the BC SPCA hosts a Bunny Hop and Egg Hunt starting at 12:30 at the branch just off 168th Street and 50th Avenue.

You can also check out “Old Fashioned Easter” at the Historic Stewart Farm on Crescent Road from 11 – 3pm.

If you’re in Cloverdale, head to the Museum of Surrey for “Easter Party Animals.”

As for events on Sunday in Surrey, thousands of Easter eggs will be thrown behind Katzie Elementary School, starting at 9:30.

There’s also a big event happening at Enver Creek Secondary.

When it comes to events in Vancouver, you could take the kids to the Vancouver Aquarium for what’s being called an “eggs-tradordinary” Easter scavenger hunt — which is on from Friday to Monday.

There will also be an Easter hop and hunt at Van Dusen Botanical Garden all weekend long.

On Saturday, you could take the kids to an Easter Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt at Renfrew Park Community Centre, starting at 2pm.

And eggciting things will be happening at the Kits Community Centre: the gym will be full of fun activities for all ages including crafts, games, face painting, and cookie decorating.

If you’re in the Tri-Cities, you can search for eggs around the Port Moody Station Museum from 10 to 2 and enjoy the morning entertainment by a magician.

In Port Coquitlam, there will be the annual Easter Arts Carnival, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Leigh Square Community Arts Village by city hall.

On Sunday, head to Castle Park in PoCo for a big hunt, beginning at 10:45 a.m.

And since the kids are off school on Monday, you can let them tire themselves out with a Bunny Skate in Coquitlam with an all-ages themed skate at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex.
