Air Canada adjusts schedule again as Boeing 737 MAX remains grounded

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Air Canada has revised its schedule until at least Aug. 1 due to the continued grounding of its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

The airline says it is setting that new date to give you some certainty if you have a trip planned between now and then.

All 737 MAX planes across the country have been grounded since last month, following two crashes within a few months of each other.

“With the continued grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, Air Canada is prudently adjusting its schedule and is finalizing arrangements for additional aircraft to transport customers to their destinations,” read a release from Air Canada. “Through these measures, we are giving customers certainty to book their summer travel plans on Air Canada with full confidence.”

The first was a Lion Air flight in October and the second an Ethiopian Airlines flight in March.

“Final decisions on returning the 737 MAX to service will be based on Air Canada’s safety assessment following the lifting of government safety notices and approval by international regulatory authorities,” read the release.
