Nanaimo RCMP looking for man who impersonated police officer

NANAIMO (NEWS 1130) – Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who impersonated a police officer when he approached a security guard in Qualicum Beach while wearing a shirt emblazoned with the word “police” in capital letters.
Corporal Jesse Foreman says the man is believed to be between 75 and 80 and showed up with red and blue lights on his dark-coloured SUV.
Foreman says the man left when he realized he was dealing with a security guard.
She says police have conducted extensive patrols since the incident at around midnight on April 17.
