SURREY (NEWS 1130) –¬†Police in Surrey are looking into a unsettling video that appears to show a truck driver harassing a woman as she walks, alone, down a dark road.

The video, posted to Facebook on the weekend by someone claiming to be her friend, has already been viewed thousands of times.

It’s about a minute long, and appears to show the driver repeatedly and aggressively trying to get the woman into his truck.

She makes it clear that’s not happening by filming the encounter, at one point saying:¬†“Are you kidding me right now? I’m filming you!”

The interaction ends with the driver getting back into his truck and taking off.

The video was posted by someone claiming to be a friend of the woman. He says, in the post, the trucker came back, pushed her down and stole her phone, but adds she was able to send him the video before it was taken away.

The friend says the woman was walking home in the late night-early morning hours when the truck pulled over next to her.

In the post, he writes “Please share and stay safe out there ladies. Take a taxi call a friend its not safe out here.”

The Surrey RCMP has confirmed it is investigating the incident which happened near 188th Street and 32nd Avenue.
