Suspected ‘prolific ticket scammer’ arrested in Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A man who police believe has been advertising fake concert and sporting event tickets in Ontario has been arrested in Vancouver.

Shaun Nixon was taken into custody on April 25. There was a warrant out for his arrest, as he’s accused of defrauding the public near Toronto.

Peel Police say tickets were advertised through a social media profile by someone listed as “Shaun Dawson.”

People e-transferred the “seller.” But once the money was sent, the victims didn’t hear from the person again.

A total of 10 people are believed to have been defrauded. Peel Police believe the person responsible is a “prolific ticket scammer.”

Nixon has been taken back to Ontario to face charges.
