52 people displaced in North Vancouver fire

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – 52 people now have to find somewhere else to go after a fire tore through a three-storey apartment building in North Vancouver Sunday morning.

Fire Chief Dan Pistilli says it happened along St. Andrews Avenue, near the Lions Gate Hospital, around 5:00 a.m.

“It will be some time before people get back in, due to the water damage,” he says. “The fire was on the third floor and there’s three floors to the building, so there is water extensive damage throughout.”

Pistilli says they still have to confirm the cause of the fire but it looks like smoking may have played a part.
