Vancouver Police looking for suspect in September hit and run involving an EVO car

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Police are hoping photos of a suspect in a hit and run in East Vancouver back in September will lead to an arrest.

On the evening of Sept 8, 2018, an EVO car collided with a grey Nissan SUV in the intersection of Skeena and East Georgia Streets.

Police say the driver of the EVO got out and checked on the driver of the SUV — who was hurt — before getting back into the car and driving away.

The 52-year-old man who was in the Nissan was taken to the hospital. He had non-life threatening injuries.

“Regardless of who’s at fault in a collision, drivers are required by law to exchange information. Not only did that not happen here, but the driver of the EVO got back into his car and simply left,” VPD Cst. Jason Doucette said.

“We have recovered video that shows the driver of the EVO and have confirmed it was not the registered EVO client. We are asking the public to call us if they recognize the young man in the photo.”

If you have information, you’re asked to call the VPD’s Hit and Run Unit at 604-717-9360.
