SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Surrey RCMP say the driver of a white pick-up truck they believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run yesterday has turned himself in to police

Staff Sgt Murray Hedderson says a 53-year-old man was killed while riding his motorcycle at around 9:30 p.m on Friday.

“The driver of the motorcycle had been thrown, the pick-up truck fled from the scene,” he says. “The driver of the motorcycle succumbed from his injuries.”

It happened near King George Blvd and 73 Ave, and traffic was impacted in the area for several hours.

The pick-up truck that fled from the scene was described as an older, white pick-up, and police say the driver turned himself in on Saturday morning.

“Surrey RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance and are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam video, are asked to call the Surrey RCMP,” Hedderson says.
