Tourism Langley hopeful WHL Championship series attracts tourists

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Following their May 10 game, the Vancouver Giants won’t be back on home ice until the start of next season.

But the WHL Championship series has put some extra attention on Langley over the last few days. Erinn Kredba with Tourism Langley says she hopes people from across the country who have been watching the games will consider visiting the community, and the hockey fans who were visiting the community this week will help attract others to the area.

“They’re on their social media and posting pictures of what they’re doing and that all is exactly how they’re helping to promote the area when they’re here,” she says. “People see it and it raises the awareness of what there is to see and do.”

The Giants, who play out of the Langley Events Centre, beat Prince Albert Friday night to keep their championship series alive.
