Head-on crash kills one man in Maple Ridge

MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS 1130) – The driver of a car that collided with a pick-up in Maple Ridge has died following a crash Tuesday morning.

It happened shortly after 9am on Lougheed Highway at 272nd Street.

RCMP Sgt. Brenda Gresiuk says what caused the crash is not yet known.

“Early indications are that a driver had crossed the centre line into oncoming traffic,” she says.

“Tragically the driver of that vehicle of the car did not survive.”

The passenger of the car had to be airlifted to emergency and the driver of the pick-up is also in hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
