Spray foam-encased kitten rescued by Oregon garbage worker

HILLSBORO, Ore. — A kitten that was encased in hardened spray foam is recovering after being rescued from a garbage can by an Oregon sanitation worker.

Washington County sheriff’s Deputy Brian van Kleef said Thursday that the sanitation worker was using a hydraulic arm to empty a trash can near Hillsboro, Oregon but the can wouldn’t empty.

The worker then saw the kitten encased in foam hanging upside down by its back legs.

Its head and paws were completely covered in hard foam.

He and his co-workers cut as much of the foam off as they could with razors and took the kitten to a veterinarian.

The kitten is now clean and fully recovered. He will be returned to his owners, who are not suspects.

There have been no arrests in the case.
