Parents of murdered Mission woman win court battle over her belongings

MISSION (NEWS 1130) – The family of a woman who was shot and killed in Mission more than a decade ago has won a court battle to have her personal belongings returned.

The parents of Lisa Dudley say they have been fighting since 2017 to obtain the belongings, including a watch, phone and other personal items.

Dudley spent four days paralyzed and dying inside her home in Mission, B.C., in 2008.

An RCMP inquest heard last year that two officers responded to a call about shots fired in the rural neighbourhood, but they did not get out of their vehicles to investigate or contact the neighbour who called 911.

Inside the home, 37-year-old Dudley and her boyfriend had been shot, and she lay in the home for four days until a neighbour checked in and called for help. Dudley died in the ambulance on the way to hospital.
