SURREY (NEWS 1130) – It could be a record breaking year for the Cloverdale Rodeo.

Shannon Claypool, the president of the rodeo, says he expects by the time the event closes Monday evening more than 100,000 people will have been to the grounds over three days.

“About 25 per cent of those guests of ours actually go to the rodeo itself, and the rest just do the country fair,” he says.

After the gates close, the process of dismantling it begins.

“It’s a big process,” Claypool says. “It takes about three or four days.”

He credits some of the high numbers of guests this year to the to all the new people moving into the Surrey-Langley area.
