Body found following fire at homeless camp in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – A man has been found dead following a fire at a homeless camp in Surrey.

Mounties say the fire broke out in a shed near 97A Avenue and 137A Street Friday at 2:30 am.

After the fire was extinguished by Surrey Fire Services, crews found the body inside the shed.

The BC Coroners Service is working to identify the person.

Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and is working with Surrey Fire Services to figure out the cause of the fire.
