VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The child poisoned by carbon monoxide over the May long weekend while camping near Salmon Arm has been moved out of the intensive care unit.
The 9-year-old girl was taken to hospital in serious condition on May 18, after she and her mother were poisoned by carbon monoxide in a tent. Her mother did not survive.

Police said they believe the two were trying to stay warm, as a cooking pot with wood ash in it was found in the tent.
A Go Fund Me page says the girl remains in BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, and is asking for donations to help her and her father as she heals.
