Police officer injured during Hats Off Day motorcycle drill

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) — A police officer was injured during the annual Hats Off Day festivities in Burnaby on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Vancouver Police Department, one of their officers was hurt during a motorcycle drill team event.

The officer’s injuries are non-life-threatening, and he’s recovering in the hospital.

The officer’s motorcycle apparently slipped on some debris on the road, which caused him to fall off.

Police officers from Vancouver, Burnaby and Seattle performed motorcycle drills for Burnaby’s annual festival in the Burnaby Heights neighbourhood on Hastings Street.
