Unsung Hero: Abbotsford woman gives back after overcoming addiction, homelessness

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – The latest winner in the NEWS 1130 Unsung Hero contest is Anne Estabrooks of Abbotsford. She was nominated by Bobbie Jacques.
“Anne is always feeding and helping the homeless in Abbotsford,” Bobbie writes. “She would give you the shirt off her back.”
Just 10 years ago, Anne herself was a drug user living on the street. She’s come a long way since then, Jacques says, adding Anne — who is now sober — always does what she can to help others stay clean.
“She is an inspiration and really deserves this unsung hero award,” Bobbie says.
Alpine Credits is acknowledging Anne with $500 & they’re also donating $1,000 to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
