Police investigating homicide near Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE (NEWS 1130) — A man has been arrested after a homicide near Williams Lake.

RCMP responded to a call around 6 p.m. Saturday at Toonsey Reserve, and found a 33-year-old woman with fatal injuries.

Despite attempts to revive her, she died at the scene. Police aren’t disclosing the nature of her injuries.

Police believe the killing was an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public.

S/Sgt. Todd Wiebe of the North District Major Crimes Unit asks for anyone with information to get in touch with RCMP or the Major Crimes Unit.

We understand this reserve is a close knit community and there is bound to be information being shared amongst the members and community of Williams Lake at large,” he says in a press release.”If you have information about this tragic incident and have not already spoken to investigators, we ask to contact either the Williams Lake RCMP or MCU and an investigator will arrange to speak with you.
