Man hit by bus suffers life-threatening injuries after altercation moved into street: Burnaby RCMP

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – A 33-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a bus following some sort of altercation Tuesday, according to the Burnaby RCMP.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. in the area of Hastings Street and Carelton Avenue.

Mounties say officers received reports of a fight between two men, which then spilled into the roadway.

A 62-year-old and another man were taken into custody, but no charges have been laid.

It’s unclear if those involved were known to each other. The bus driver is apparently not being investigated in this incident.

Part of eastbound Hastings Street remains closed in Burnaby Heights at Carleton Avenue for the investigation.
