Man charged with sexual assault granted bail

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The man charged with sexually assaulting a woman in her own home in East Vancouver could soon be out on bail.
Choe Wing Ma, a 59-year-old man charged with sexual assault and robbery, is on bail.
Ma is under house arrest and is only allowed to leave for scheduled hearings or appointments. He must be accompanied by a family member when he does leave.
Other bail conditions include being electronically monitored and to comply with all counselling and bail supervisor directions.
Vancouver Police say he struck up conversation with a woman in her 20s as she was walking home from a bus stop near 41st Avenue and Earles Street then followed her into her house and sexually assaulted her.

The woman did not know her attacker.
Ma’s next court appearance is on July 15.
