Father’s Day weekend in the community

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Happy Father’s Day to all the dads! It was a beautiful weekend for families all around the Lower Mainland.

My first stop on Saturday was the Burnaby Chalk Art Experience, a creative celebration that allowed all generations to meet and mingle with local and international chalk artists. Thanks to the City of Burnaby, even Mayor Mike Hurley was there. I spoke with him on air about this community event that sparks artistic expression for all.

My first trip to the B.C. Highland Games and Scottish Festival did not disappoint. With giant Scotsmen showcasing their strength, bagpipers, Highland dancers and even jousting, Lafarge Lake was overtaken by teams in tartan.

The 5th annual International Yoga Festival and Health Expo took place on Sunday (Father’s Day) at the Croatian Cultural Centre and I spent the day sharing the importance of being proactive with our health.

Mind-body-soul wellness is the key to longevity and vitality. Yoga is more than just exercise, it is about connecting with self.

The yoga community was warm and welcoming and even the organic food from Silk Vancouver was mouth watering!

Namaste, and see you next weekend Vancouver for The Vancouver International Jazz Festival kick off!
