Snow falls on Okanagan Connector

OKANAGAN (NEWS 1130) – If you’re travelling through the B.C. Interior today, you may be in for a winter surprise.

Flurries fell onto the Okanagan Connector early this morning around the Pennask Summit, between Merritt and Kelowna. Temperatures are also being reported around 10 to 12 degrees cooler than normal.

Higher elevations in the mountains can often see large temperature swings even this late in the year.

The Pennask Summit is approximately 1,600 metres above sea level.

The unseasonal weather is not expected to end, with thundershowers this afternoon and continuing into the next day.
