Bail denied for man convicted of running underage prostitution ring

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A Vancouver man convicted of running a prostitution ring and obstructing justice has been denied bail as he seeks a new trial.

Reza Moazami’s application to be released into his mother’s custody has been rejected.

A judge with the BC Court of Appeal ruled against him as he had previously defied court orders when his mother promised to keep him under her care.

He was originally convicted for crimes involving girls as young as 11 years old dating back to 2009.

Moazami has been in prison since 2014.
