Pam Anderson’s birthday wish: release orca from SeaWorld

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Pamela Anderson shares a birthday with her home country, and is marking it by asking for an orca who is the same age as her to be released by SeaWorld.

According to PETA, Corky the whale was captured off the coast of British Columbia near her home in 1969.

In a letter to the SeaWorld CEO, Anderson says Corky has been living in a tank “comparable to the size of a bathtub” at SeaWorld in San Diego, and she adds both of the orca’s brother and sister are “alive and flourishing in the wild.”

The Canadian federal government voted in a ban on cetaceans in captivity in recent weeks.
