VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The demolition of character and heritage homes in Vancouver is wasteful and removes them from being used as potential secondary suites for rental.
Vancouver Councillor Colleen Hardwick wants the City to push the province to remove the “school tax” for homes built before 1940.

She also wants staff to look into allowing two secondary suites for rent in a main house.
The tax currently applies to homes worth at least $3 million.
