WHITE ROCK (NEWS 1130) – It’s been a busy week for bike races across Metro Vancouver, but it all comes to an end this weekend.
The Tour de White Rock, which takes place today and tomorrow, is the finale for cyclists.
Brian Wiebe, who speaks for the event, says the athletes will really be feeling it by now.
“With White Rock, unfortunately by that time the riders – a lot of them are feeling pretty burnt out, so sometimes they will skip White Rock but in the other case, other riders look at that as an opportunity, which means it helps the field in White Rock,” he says.
The White Rock race is 130 km of steep, seaside hills over two days. It is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
More than 200 cyclists have been competing in the BC Superweek cycling series.
