Summer will finally start to sizzle this weekend

Clearing and a high of 21 degrees.

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Expect a “summer sizzle” this weekend in the Lower Mainland. That’s according to NEWS 1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate.

“This is not going to be a heatwave weekend we’re talking about,” Russ says. “It will be the warmest stretch of summer thus far.”

He adds there were some days in June when the temperature hit 30 degrees, but that was before the official start of summer.

He says the all-time record for this time of year in the region is 37 degrees.

Things should start heating up Saturday and the temperature will hit a high of 28 degrees on Monday.
