Wildfire burning out of control in the Interior near Ashcroft

ASHCROFT (NEWS 1130) — A fire is burning out of control in the Interior, about 24 kilometres east of Ashcroft.
The fire started Sunday afternoon.
It is suspected to be caused by a human, says Fire Information Officer Taylor MacDonald.
“It is visible from the highway so people may be able to see it when they’re driving by,” she adds.
It’s estimated to be one hectare in size. Personnel from the BC Wildfire Service are on scene, accompanied by one helicopter.
