No one hurt after fire forces evacuation of Surrey apartment building

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — No one was hurt by a fire at an afternoon apartment building on Whalley Boulevard and 100th Avenue in Surrey.

Battalion Chief Reo Jerome says it was contained to one unit on the second floor above a medical clinic.

“We have located the tenant from the suite and they’d left this morning to go to work. We are still looking for one person that was in the unit, but we haven’t been able to make contact with them yet,” he said.
