Delta Police find stolen car, issue reminder to lock doors and windows after two break and enters

DELTA (NEWS 1130) — Delta’s police chief is praising his officers after they recovered a car taken in one of two break and enters in Tsawwassen on Friday.

In both incidents, thieves had taken advantage of unlocked doors.

Chief Neil Dubord commended the force’s street crime team who worked through the night investigating.

The Delta Police Department is out with a warning not to shirk security in an attempt to beat the heat.

“Now that warm weather has arrived, residents may be inclined to keep doors and windows open. Please remember to secure your property by locking all doors and windows when you are not home, and at night. When you are home, do not leave unattended windows and doors open and keep garage doors closed,” the department says in a release.

They also want residents to know that the department offers security checks of people’s homes when they’re on vacation. The service is free of charge.
