IIO investigating after man allegedly threatening to kill police officers, waving knife arrested in Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Independant Investigations Office is looking into an arrest officers made in Vancouver on July 25, when a man allegedly threatening to stab and kill police officers was taken into custody.
It happened at around 4 p.m. on Thursday near Kingsway and Victoria Drive, when someone called 9-1-1 and said there was a man waving what appeared to be a knife.

Officers used a taser and a bean-bag shotgun to arrest the man, who was then taken to hospital. After a few hours, it was found the man had a serious medical condition.
The IIO investigates cases in which people are injured in their interactions with police. No one else was hurt in the incident.
