Surrey RCMP seeking witnesses to serious assault with a weapon

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — A man is recovering from serious injuries after being assaulted with a weapon in Surrey Saturday night.

Police responded to a call just before midnight last night and found an injured 19-year-old from Vancouver near 140th Street and 86th avenue.

“[He] was suffering from serious non-life threatening injuries. The male was transported to hospital,” the police say in a release. “The suspect had fled from the scene prior to police arrival in a Black newer B.M.W. 4 door sedan. A person of interest has been identified.”

Mounties are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to call them at (604) 599-0502 and quote File # 2019-113449.

They are also asking anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage from the area to contact them.
