VPD looking to identify two people with info on serious assault on man in wheelchair

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Vancouver Police Department is looking for help identifying two people who may have information about a serious assault on a man in a wheelchair that happened in early July.

The man was found in the underground parking lot of an apartment building around Cecil Street and Kingsway on July 4. The 44-year-old, who uses a motorized wheelchair, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

On Wednesday, police released images from surveillance video in the Collingwood neighbourhood that show two people they believe have information about the assault.

Police are looking for a man and a woman. The man is described as blonde, slim and Caucasian. He was wearing a jean jacket, a shirt with an “O” on the front, and black shorts and flip flops. He had a black baseball cap on.

The woman is also described as Caucasian, with a medium build and orange or blonde shaggy hair. She had on a black crop top and camouflage capris, with a red jacket and sandals.

They’re hoping anyone who was in the area or has dashcam footage will be able to help with the investigation.
