High-risk sex offender missing from Vancouver halfway house arrested in Stanley Park

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A convicted sex offender who has been the subject numerous Canada-wide warrants — the most recent one issued on Thursday — has been caught.

Vancouver police say Dale Rolland Alexander, 47, was arrested Thursday night, just hours after he failed to return to his halfway house in the city.

The VPD says Alexander was found in a wooded area of Stanley Park just after 8:00 p.m. by patrol officers, who were assisted by a police dog.

The man is a two-time federal offender who has served time for sexual assault, kidnapping, and uttering threats.

Court records show Alexander has been charged with breaching his long-term supervision order on five occasions since 2011.
